Terms & Conditions

Please read these Terms and Conditions and accept them using the box at the bottom of the page. Work/services will not commence until these terms have been accepted. If you have any queries or wish to make any amendments to these terms before work commences, you must inform us/request these before you accept the terms. By taking up our services/hiring us to complete any works for you, you agree to these Terms and Conditions and understand all the information and clauses presented within this agreement, despite whether they are agreed to using the form below. By reading and accepting these Terms and Conditions, accepting the Quotation given to you, and paying the required deposit, you agree that this is a legally binding contract between both yourself (the ‘Client’) and Reynolds Building Services Ltd (the ‘Service Provider’). Any changes or amendments to these Terms and Conditions must be made before quotation is accepted.


‘You’, 'your’ ‘Customer’ and ‘Client’ refer to you – the client, the person accepting the services of Reynolds Building Services Ltd.
‘Reynolds Building Services Ltd’, ‘we’, ‘us’, ‘they’ and ‘Contractor’ refer to the service provider, Reynolds Building Services Ltd.
 
These terms and conditions explain the rights and responsibilities of the client and Reynolds Building Services Limited
1. Reynolds Building Services Ltd will provide all customers with a written quotation, which will include sufficient detail for the completion of the works. If any clarification is required, please contact us so that we can provide it. Extra works can be provided subject to a written confirmation including cost.
2. Once a quotation has been accepted (either verbally or in writing), these Terms and Conditions have been accepted and the client has paid their deposit, then a contract has been entered into and these terms will come into effect. Quotes are valid for three months from the date on the quote.
3. Once the client has entered into a contract with Reynolds Building Services Ltd, they have a 14-day cooling-off period should they wish to cancel the contract. The client can cancel their contract within 14 days by either phone or email to Reynolds Building Services Ltd (07837 140181 / reynoldsbuildingservices@outlook.com).
4. Reynolds Building Services Ltd will provide a payment plan to the client prior to commencement of works. This will usually include a 5% deposit, staged payments, and an end payment upon completion of works. Deposits are non-refundable and allow Reynolds Building Services Ltd to book work in and agree a formal start date for works and purchase materials. Please note: In the very unlikely event that Reynolds Building Services Ltd have to cancel your work, your deposit will be fully refunded.
5. Invoices will be sent out prior to the relevant payment date and each invoice will serve as a receipt for payment. Payments must be made within 48 hours or work progress may be impeded or ceased (in the case of non-payment). If payment is not received within 7 days, a late fee of 10% on top of the invoice cost will be added to the invoice total. Payments are preferred by bank transfer, but cheque/cash are also accepted. All invoices include our bank details for bank transfers. Failure to pay for services provided could resort in legal action.
6. The Contractor reserves the right to terminate services under any circumstances. Should you or Reynolds Building Services Ltd choose to discontinue the services, only the services provided / materials purchased up to that point will be billed, and any over-payments will be refunded or discounted. Unforeseen circumstances are at the discretion of Reynolds Building Services Ltd. Should the contract be terminated by either party due to unforeseen circumstances, the ‘Service Provider’ retains the right to charge for any services provided up to the agreed termination date. Deposits paid are non-refundable.
7. Discounts and retentions: Prices are based on the understanding that no retentions are held unless previously arranged and authorised. No Main Contractor or Subcontractor discounts are given unless agreed and confirmed in writing.
8. All prices quoted are calculated on the basis of free access and unimpeded working during our normal working hours (8am – 4pm Mon – Fri), unless otherwise agreed. Please note that we may be on site until 6pm or on a Saturday/Sunday - we will get prior agreement with the client should this happen.
9. It is the customer’s responsibility to arrange planning permission, building control and any utility changes. If planning permission is required for the work, Reynolds Building Services Ltd may request to see proof that this has been agreed prior to beginning work.
10. Commencement of work is under the assumption of uninterrupted work for the duration of the contract and in accordance with planning permission where applicable. Reynolds Building Services Ltd will not be held liable for any costs incurred as a result of delays due to unforeseen circumstances. (eg planning permission delays resulting in work having to stop).
11. Free access is required for delivery of building materials, plant, machinery, skips etc.
12. All used/unused on-site or removed materials remain the property of Reynolds Building Services Ltd and will be disposed of accordingly.
13. Reynolds Building Services Ltd may directly employ or subcontract labour to work on site. Each sub-contractor takes full responsibility for their own third-party liability. Plumbing sub-contracts are Gas Safe registered. Electricians are Part P certified. Reynolds Building Services Ltd will oversee all works to completion and takes full general and operational responsibility in the running of any contract agreed with the client.
14. Reynolds Building Services Ltd will agree all practical arrangements with regards to working methods with the client in order to provide minimum disruption to the client and allow work to be carried out efficiently by the contractor.
15. We will endeavour to employ a helpful attitude at all times and will always attempt to bring the building works to a satisfactory conclusion as soon as possible, taking into account weather conditions, availability of specialist materials and unforeseen circumstances etc.
16. No responsibility is taken by Reynolds Building Services Ltd for the presence of perished or rotten timber (or any other perished or rotten materials) in existing structures such as doors, windows and frames whether detected or undetected at the time of contract.
17. We will not be held responsible for the suitability of the existing boiler’s ability to allow for additional plumbing works. If the existing boiler is found to be unsuitable, this shall be discussed with the client and details of any additional costs will be provided. If we have to remove existing radiators for any reason (eg plastering) we will not be held responsible for their effectiveness once they are replaced.
18. We will not be held responsible for the suitability of the existing electrical consumer unit’s ability to allow for additional electrical works. If the existing consumer unit is found to be unsuitable, this shall be discussed with the client and details of any additional costs will be provided.

19. Reynolds Building Services Ltd will endeavour to protect existing surfaces with the use of dust sheets and loose plastic sheeting etc along with care in our working practice. However, responsibility for protection from damage of any existing surface or fabrics etc is the responsibility of the client. Arrangements can be made to put in place protection of existing surfaces, over and above our basic cover, at a negotiated additional cost. We strongly recommend the clients moves any expensive or sentimental items before work commences. If we are required to move furniture to undertake our work, we will not be held responsible for any breakages or stains that may occur. We advise clients to keep all valuables and expensive items safe and secure for the duration of the works, as we cannot be held liable for any theft or loss.
20. Reynolds Building Services Ltd has Public Liability Insurance to the sum of £2,000,000 and Employers’ Liability to the sum of
£10,000,000. All usual general building practices are covered within our insurance policy.
21. Reynolds Building Services Ltd agrees that they will not disclose, divulge, reveal, report, or use for any purpose, any confidential information which the Service Provider has obtained (written or verbal), except as authorised by the Client or as required by law. The obligations of confidentiality will apply during the term of this Agreement and will survive indefinitely upon termination of this Agreement. Any confidential information needed or obtained by Reynolds Building Services Ltd will be held on a secure server or in a secure environment owned by the Service Provider.
22. Reynolds Building Services Ltd take pictures of the progress of our projects. We reserve the right to use these pictures in our portfolio of work, on our website and on various social media websites for marketing and information purposes. Please let us know via email at the start of your work if you are not happy with this.
